Post Graduate Permit
The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) allows students who have graduated from a participating Canadian post-secondary institution to gain valuable Canadian work experience.
Co-op/Internship Participation
Cooperative education (or co-operative education) and internships are methods of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience ("co-op"), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions. Internships may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.
Work While Studying
Full-time students pursuing an academic program at St. Thomas University may qualify to work off campus without a work permit. If you qualify, your study permit will allow you to: work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions and work full-time during scheduled breaks, such as the winter and summer holidays or spring break.
Conditional Offer letter
Even if you do NOT meet our minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), you still can get conditionally accepted in the program of your choice with the condition of completing our English program prior to starting your chosen program.
Accommodations
For students leaving home for the first time, living in residence is a comfortable first step to successful independence. Each residence has shared study areas, TV lounges, laundry facilities and snack machines. Residence rooms are equipped with wireless internet. Quiet hours are in place every day for study and sleep. Campus is patrolled 24/7 by full-time security staff. Each residence has a Residence Advisor that is on duty from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM each day. Harrington, Vanier, and Holy Cross are located on campus and offer students convenient access to classes, faculty offices, the library, fitness centre, study spaces, and other frequently used student facilities.
